Multilingual Education M.A.
UNC’s masters degree in Multilingual Education, TESOL or World Languages curriculum equips language teachers with the skills and expertise to teach English or foreign languages in the U.S. and abroad. We welcome tudents living and working in the United States or internationally and offer programs on-campus, online asynchronous programs to meet the needs of our diverse students.
Facilitate Language Learning
Our international, multilingual faculty are recognized leaders in teacher preparation for language teaching. They’ll work closely with you as mentors and colleagues. Small class sizes, whether face-to-face or online, encourage close interaction and the exchange of career-related knowledge and creative teaching techniques.

The TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Concentration prepares students to work in the field of TESOL or in international or domestic non K-12 educational settings with emergent bilingual and bicultural students. UNC offers this program online through UNC’s Extended Campus.

Multilingual Education M.A. – World Language Licensure Program
The Multilingual Education Master of Arts degree in World Languages with Licensure prepares students to work in the field of foreign/world language education in both U.S. K-12 systems and international settings. The program completers obtain a master’s degree and a Colorado World Language teaching license.
Typically, you’ll complete our master’s program in four to five semesters with a course load of 6 to 10 credits per semester. If you have prior coursework in language teacher education, you may qualify for credit transfer and reduction of total required credits. Focus your studies in Chinese, Spanish, French, German, Japanese or Russian. UNC offers this program online through UNC’s Extended Campus.
